Business rules help maintain consistency in the ordering process, outlining how goods should be packaged, labeled, and shipped. They define expectations on fulfillment, as well as the number, content, timing, and flow of transactions. As your trading partner community grows, so will the number of business rules you're expected to follow. Violations can result in problems with inventory, bad data entering you or a partner's ERP or accounting system, and financial penalties (chargebacks).
