Leading Supplier of Take-Home Flooring Samples Uses DiCentral EDI Solutions

For more than a decade, Contemporary Marketing (CMG)—one of the leading suppliers of take-home flooring samples in the retail flooring industry—has relied on DiCentral’s EDI solutions to increase operational efficiency. CMG, which works primarily with Home Depot and HomeDepot.com, provides hard surface samples, soft surface samples and various displays for nearly 2,000 stores in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.  For CMG, DiCentral integrates orders in their ERP systems, sends electronically transmits advanced shipping notices (ASNs) with tracking information, electronically sends invoices, and delivers the payment file to close out the invoices.

“They do countless transactions for us behind the scenes,” said Drew Walton, an IT specialist at CMG. “If we had to do it manually ourselves, we’d have to dedicate an entire department to it.”

Contemporary Marketing currently warehouses and distributes over 5,000 individual items to almost 2,000 separate ship-to locations. All orders are received via DiCentral’s EDI solutions and are processed within 48 hours of receipt of order. Special requests can be shipped within 24 hours. CMG chose DiCentral to save time and money, but they especially appreciate DiCentral’s outstanding customer support.

“Everything is automated and seamless, so we don’t really have to touch it,” Walton said. “Plus, they’ve built great relationships with us over the years.  It’s nice to have a personal touch with people who are familiar with our environment.”

CMG leverages DiCentral’s EDI integrated suite for SAP. The SAP add-on allows reporting as well as manual importing and exporting, as required.
